the winning song

I have been posting too much AI stuff (actually, they are more of David Cook stuff) in both my blogs and I still can't get enough of it. I have always been like this since before. When I begin to love something or someone, I become passionate about the feeling that it's so hard letting go...

Hayyy...

lip service

I discovered a new favorite lipstick recently. For years now, I have been struggling of lugging a lipstick, a lip balm and a lip gloss in my bag. With my new discovery, I wouldn't have to bring a lot of lip paraphernalia as each lipstick comes with an attached lip gloss. I especially love the sweet pea shade as it projects a no-nothing effect on my lips.

The dual lipstick and gloss is a nice combination to have. And it comes in pretty packaging as well. That in itself turned me on already.

The gloss is also pretty good. It has nice shine, good tint, and is not sticky in any manner. It comes with a brush applicator, when I would rather have a sponge, but that is just a personal preference for me. The gloss is unscented and unflavored as far as I can tell. It says it is plumping in the name, but I did not notice any plumping indicators, not even the tingle that most give off. I view it as simply a decent matching gloss and that is good enough for me.

friday tag - sunday edition

Snagged this from Eds.

DO YOU PREFER…

1. To watch or participate?
I used to love performing when I was younger but now, I just like to be in the sidelines. Or I usually spearhead something and let others shine...

2. Malls, catalog shopping, or the Internet?
Malls, hands down!

3. A bath or shower?
I love hot baths.

4. To talk to people by telephone, in person or by e-mail?
I am no telebabad even when I was teeny bopper. I would rather that we talk over cups and cups of coffee :)

5. Typing or writing?
I have had a diary since I was 10. I used to enjoy writing and I think that my penmanship is still the most readable ever :) but with the blogs and all, I am slowly losing my passion to write (literally that is).

what a rose can say?

Thanks Esther for this nice tag. I love it!

What A Rose Can Say
A rose can say I love you and want you to be mine,
A rose can say I thank you for being so very kind,
A rose can say congratulations, whatever the occasion may be,
A rose can say I miss you and wish you were here with me,
A rose can say I'm sorry if I've hurt you in any way,
A rose can say get well soon, May God bless you today,
A rose can say I wish you happiness, and the best for you each day.
A rose can say farewell when someone goes away,
A rose can say hello, I'm thinking of you today,
There's just so many wonderful things that a rose can say,
A rose can say goodbye when a love one is laid to rest,
No matter what there is to say, a rose can say it best.

play slots

When he was here for a short visit, I introduced my brother to all those games in the computer but guess where he got hooked? You bet it right, online slots! And from the variety of slot machines that are available, he liked the fruit machines best. He would always tell me that the colors and style are the best he has seen so far that’s why he would always come back to the site and play.

liz for mom

Mommy is a die-hard Liz Claiborne fanatic. So as I pay tribute to her today, I checked on their site and chose the best bags ansd shoes for her. Of course, I am not buying them all. Just want to share with you the eyecandies that I chose for her.

love your car

I am helping out a friend who is scouting for her very first car. While doing this, I can’t help but feel a beam of pride as she will be buying her car from her own savings. She’s actually ready to buy one since a few weeks ago but because we have both been busy with work, we haven’t had the time to sit down and discuss the possible options. I have nothing in mind but the first thing that I suggested to her was if she is buying a car, it is imperative that she gets an insurance for her car as well. And because her budget is limited, we are in the process of looking for a cheap car insurance for her. At carinsurancerates.com, anyone can get a free quotation in a snap of a finger! You only have to complete their no obligation online application forms and you’re good to go. An added plus is that this site is very informative that I became aware of the 10 easiest cars to get insured, top 10 hardest cars to get insured, 10 most stolen cars and etc. I would recommend this site to all those who are searching for the best car insurance.

an open letter to mom

Happy Mothers Day

Dear Mom,

How can I thank you enough for raising me to be the woman that I am now? I know that we have practically lived our lives separately for the last 2 decades and that fact still affects me even after all these years. I miss your warm embraces and your sweet butterfly kisses. I miss your loud voice and your soft touch to match it. You have been such a great woman - having to choose the road that is less travelled - the kind that will entail a lot of sacrifices for you. Imagine having to leave us at such a young age just so you can give us the life that is comfortable, rewarding and happy. I am grateful that you sent us to the best schools and that you showered us with the best things. I am happy that I was able to live the life that I wanted with you, always holding my hand and showing me the way.

It's payback time. Now that I am all grown up with a family of my own, allow me to pamper you a bit. Mom, I will not be as settled as I am now if not for your loving guidance and nurturing. So let me thank you by giving you a small gift this Mother's Day. I got you one of these online credit cards for you to use if you decide to treat yourself with things and pamper your body with any material gift you want. It's my way of expressing my gratitude to you mommy. Because you are the best!

I love you and Happy Mother's Day!

broke? not anymore!

I can’t believe my cousin is on it again! She sent me an SMS asking if there’s any way she can borrow some money from me. I have stretched out my arms to this person and this time I want to teach her a lesson. To say that she is very irresponsible in handling her finances is a major understatement. I have witnessed her shop till she drops days and the next thing, she’s left empty handed so she will resort to borrowing from people. Yes she pays on time and she keeps her word. She a stable job so her income is fixed but her manner of spending is really crazy. So this time, instead of lending her again, I directed her to a site where she can apply for payday advance loan. It is said to be the fastest way to obtain secure, online cash advance and payday loans. No documents are needed and once approved, the lenders electronically deposit the money into your account. How hard can it get? Since my cousin only needs enough to help her get by from now until the next payday, she tried applying online. She’s just waiting for the approval and she will be one happy girl again!

battle of 2 davids

If there's one thing my mom and I are passionate about, it is watching AI week after week after week. And since we're tandems, we only began loving the show the moment Ramiel Malubay was booted out of the show. I just think it's so fun to watch these kids belt out their talents for the world to see. And the judges? Oh! We love them all! However, mom and I are rooting for the 2 Davids. Separately. We all know that AI Season 7 is going to be the battle of the Davids. So, let me root for mine while mommy root for hers:

Mommy roots for the angelic David Archuleta...

...While Farah roots for the hot and sassy David Cook!

easy shopping money for all

My friends are going crazy over the big weekend sale that’s going to happen next week. But there’s one problem, and that is pay day is still a week after next and they have no extra cash to cover their shopping needs for the big event! Imagine the thrill on their faces when they discovered about this site where they can apply for payday loan online. The nice thing about this is no papers are needed. It’s faxless, as what they say. And the process is fast and easy that the borrower won’t sweat it out before she can get the money. It’s just a few clicks away in the computer and voila, the money is ready for you. Again, as this is a short term loan, it primarily covers your spending needs. Fast, easy, convenient… what more can you ask for? Besides all these, the information you provide online are guaranteed to be safe and secured so you don’t have to worry about all these hackers that thrive online. All your transactions are deemed private so what your provide stays with the company and is kept away from public. So what are you waiting for, fill in those empty wallets and apply for one now!

safeguarding your home

When we finally decided on that dream house as posted earlier, the next thing that I worked out on was to get a house insurance for it. I surfed and searched and reviewed on possible companies that I can transact with. It was a long, tiring process but I had to do it. With everything that’s happening around the world, it is best to keep your house insured from tremendous risk. I mean, the last thing that I want to experience is to lose the house that was built with our blood, sweat and tears and not get anything after only because I was just reckless and not care about protecting the one thing that we can already call ours. We have made a substantial investment in it after all. It’s a good thing that my husband shares the same take as I do on matters like these. He also wants to make sure that our investments are insured for the benefit of our children and our children’s children. By doing so, we are not only safeguarding our lives but also the lives of the people who depend on us and the people who will later depend on them. For me, this will be the best legacy that I can ever leave my children.

on choosing the perfect house

All these price increase is going crazy and it’s really driving me nuts! Imagine the price of petrol being doubled from about seven years ago when I started driving. In a way, it taught me how to be frugal about my expenses. Just last year when we were scouting for houses, I carefully studied everything from the mortgage rate to the payment scheme. I had to make sure that the house that we will be choosing is the best in terms of how we are going to pay for it and how my family will like the place. Proximity to my work area and my husband’s business is also a major consideration. And the convenience when it comes to groceries, church, play area, school and the bank. I really had to be hands on with the selection process since I know that when we have finally decided, it will be the house that my family will be living in for the next few years. I am grateful that I devoted a lot of time researching and studying the ins and outs before finally deciding on a house. At least, I wouldn’t be bothered by my conscience if anything fails for I know that we did not decide on it out of a whim. Careful planning and discussions happened before finally deciding on the best house.

my to do list

It has been such a crazy week for me. I figured, I did not create my list of things to do over the weekend which explains the crazy week that I am experiencing right now. It's Thursday and I have three more days before the week ends. So now, I shall start the day with my to do list.

Isn't it so nice to be able to write everything in an organized way and feel such a great accomplishment when you're able to cross it off your list after?

1. Bring the dog to his pedia. He badly needs some grooming asap!
2. Bring the hubby to the dentist as he has been complaining about his teeth since last week. After the dentist appointment, we're going to the salon/barber shop then pamper ourselves with a great massage at the spa and hopefully some facial for me.
3. Map out menu for next week. More fish. Less pork and beef. Don't forget the veggies.
4. Check out the list of payday loans that my company is offering (I heard that it's a good deal!)Think. Think. Do I need one at this point?
5. Spend more time with Lizzie and let her teach me some spanish lines (thanks to Dora, she is learning! She is learning!)

mama

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. My MIL has been discharged after staying at the Delos Santos hospital for 3 days (as posted here). She has undergone DNC and executive check up because of her ovary problems.

It was a long, sad week for the family but we are all doing fine now. She was advised to be on complete bed rest until next week.

online backgammon

During my week of staying at home to rest and free up my mind from work related stress, I have found a friend in online backgammon. This site offers latest information about backgammon tournaments and since it is offered in six languages, you can play with anyone around the world. I have spent most of my time just to play backgammon and I tell you, it relieved my mind from stress! For daring players, backgammon can also be played for real money not just for fun!
