baby alive

Lizzie has been bugging me about Baby Alive. She so wanted that doll since a few weeks ago but her dad and I are opposed to buying her something as expensive as this doll. We find it impractical for her age. At 3, all she knows is to cut her doll's hair, paint her face, remove her clothes and leave them as if the dolls were raped. I don't blame her because she's still a kid. And I don't expect her to handle her toys with care at this stage so as a resolution, we decided to just buy her toys (and dolls for that matter) that aren't really too pricey but are still nice. Baby Alive is nowhere near that. It is expensive hands down. But she loves it and she dreams about it LOL. I am almost convinced that she deserves something like this for Christmas considering her stellar performance in school and her good conduct all year round. But principles are principles. Now, my heart is breaking but my husband's right. She can't always have all the nice things in life...

Any Given Day

1. What is your favorite day of the week? Why?
~That would be Saturday. Aside from the fact that it is my official ME time, I also get to fix and refix my house since my hubby is at work and my daughter is busy playing.

2. On what day of the week were you born?
~Monday

3. On average, how many days a year you spend away from home?
~a couple of weeks, that is when my parents come home for their annual visit.

4. Are you the kind of person who always knows what day it is or do you constantly find yourself asking someone else?
~Is there a person who forgets what day is it today? Because I don't.

5. What five topics would you like to answer questions about on fridays?
~what to fix the day after, where to go, what to eat, where to bring Lizzie and what to buy

crocs lover

My love affair with crocs has never wavered since the time I got my first pair. Now after mroe than a year and several pairs after, I am busy choosing the styles I am getting this Christmas. Styles that are not just for me but for my daughter and husband as well.

First -- MINE:
The Crocs Malindi in cotton candy. It is stylish, fun flat that allows feet to breath in warm weather. Perfect for the summer!

The Crocs Mary Janes will be perfect with jibbitz™ brand charms.
And since I love brown at work, the Crocs Lena will perfectly complement my not so corporate attires without looking too lousy and unprofessional.

my body and me

I am starting to gain weight again. Blame it on the number of family get together that we have been attending since last month. I wonder if I need a female fat burner already but I'd rather not. My husband has been trying to convince me to go to the gym with him so I can lose weight and at the same time, tone my muscles but the better part of me chooses to just stay home and sleep. I am just so lazy it's bad! I better think things over and enrol before the year ends. I don't want to start the year with a not so good figure...

3x thursday

1. Are your parents still alive? If so, do you get along with them?
>>>Yup, they are still alive. Dad has a bad case of sore throat though so I hope he gets well soon. Other than that, they are both doing fine, are healthy as a horse and happily in love Ü Yup, I come from a very small family. I have an older brother and I am my family's little darling so they have no choice but to spoil me and love me and understand my moods. LOL

2. Do your parents live close? Why/why not?
>>>Unfortunately not. We are continents apart. They live in the US while I chose to stay behind here in the Philippines. Why? My own family is here.

3. Name one thing valuable that your parents taught you. Why did you choose this?
>>>Independence. They taught me not to rely on anyone else to survive. They taught me the value of hard work and perseverance and how prayers can move mountains. They are a very religious couple and I was raised in a family of praying people. I teach these same values now to my daughter.

Join the fun here.

the it bags

When it comes to bags, I would always tell my friends that I am always choosing Gucci over LV. Not that I don't like the latter. I just find the former really elegant and classy. This is one of the many things that my big boss and I share. And one of us come accross a style worthy of our time and eyes, we would share it to each other. The only difference is my boss gets to buy what she wants while I still have to save up for my first. I am not worrying though because I know in time, I will be able to get my own. For now, I have to make sure that all the bills get to be paid on time. All our dues are attended to without miss. Just like the other day, I had to research on some auto insurance quotes for one of our cars. I mean, at this point, these are things that are more important than designer bags and killer shoes. I will get what I want someday. I just know that.

”And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship's flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship's flower will bloom for you. “

Change has come

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
"It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.

"It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Red States and Blue States: we are, and always will be, the United States of America."

Change has come to America. I am elated. Thank you Lord.
