... be a good homemaker and finish all the pending stuff that I need to do for my home. Two weeks of setting aside domestic needs is over and it's time to move and work.

1. Have Lizzie's gown measurement taken by Ligaya. I've got to do this now or else I will be dead meat when my friend S calls me up first thing on Monday. I broke my promise twice already and I have no plans of breaking it again.
2. Bring Bob to the vet and talk to the pet house owner about the chihuahua that we will be getting for Lizzie.
3. Work on the budget for the coming week.
4. Look for new car covers. This has been long put on hold that it needs top priority later.
5. Get ingredients for the seafood pasta in the grocery. I need to do this tomorrow afternoon so I can scrap it in my list of things to do for the weekend.

Busy busy sunday. But, I am sure to have time for UAAP's game 1. Hahahaha!

the flame is burning

Because of his desire to have a Paolo Contis-slash-DingDong Dantes-slash-Rovilson Fernandez-slash-Marc Nelson body, my husband have been sweating it out (as in literally sweating it out) in the gym 5 times a week, 2 hours a day. He has been into this passion for almost 3 months now and so far, so good. I can see the effects already although I don't really compliment him that much lest he will try harder. Ir's sometimes funny already like a while back, he mentioned about this Ephedrasil Hardcore which his gym buddies were offering him. A fat burner? I asked him. But he was so convincing he can already pass as a sales rep. Well, we shall see about this in the coming days...

my besty and her future

My bestfriend J and I had a long phone conversation earlier this week. We were reminiscing about our lives in college, our first job together and our future. The flow of conversation was smooth until it turned out to be really nostalgic and our tone sad when she shared with me the news that she will be leaving for the US in a couple of months as there are a couple of Boston jobs that she is seriously considering. She is single so it's very easy for her to decide on things as big as this. We are both scared of what the future holds for her but we are also both excited and optimistic that it will be bright and sunny for her to live elsewhere. I will surely miss my besty but as we've promised each other, we will shop till we drop in NY and dine and wine in Cali when I get to visit her.

phone with antenna

One of the problems I have with my cellular phone was the strength of signal in varying places. When I am in a building, the signal is really strong but when I go mobile, the signal weakens. I never figured out what was wrong. At first, I would bring the unit to a service center but even the repairmen can't detect what was wrong with the phone. It was only until a friend mentioned about a cell phone repeater that I might need to install in my car to make sure that my phone's signal is always detected even when I'm on the go. Will give this a shot.

my name is Lizzie...

...I would like to share how my 3rd birthday went =)

Disclaimer: This is nothing fancy so you can skip this post a bit. Heee!!!

September 19, Friday
2:00 AM - I heard Mama get up from bed to take a shower.
2:40 AM - Mama wakes me up and asks Yaya to give me a quick hot bath and dress me up. She chose a red button down shirt and brown Khaki shorts for me to wear.
3:10 AM - We leave for Church. Mom said that Quiapo Church is very far from our house so I can still sleep while on the road. I slept.
4:00 AM - Mass. I was asleep the whole time but Mama and Dada said it was okay.
6:00 AM - My parents together with Lola Arlyn and Lolo Jun had breakfast at Delifrance while I played and had my favorite breakfast at Jollibee (cool that Delifrance and Jollibee in Libis are located beside each other)
7:30 AM - We're back home!! Yipee!! It's time to open my gifts Ü Dada said that I can only open them after the mass. I got a Dora MP3 player and some Disney stuff from Mama and Dada, educational toys from my other Ninongs and Ninangs and a cute Lisa Frank lunch box from Tita Kristel. Thanks mucho!
9:00 AM - Morning shower. I took my nap afterwards. Dada left for work na. Mama was working from the house. Before I slept, she was in front of her laptop typing and she was very busy.
12:00 Noon - Birthday Lunch of Kare Kare, Pancit (for long life) and Crispy Hito (mom's favorite!) at Mama Shine's house. Yum Yum Yum!!! I finished 3 plated of pancit!
4:00 PM - Let the party begin! I spent my birthday with the kids of our employees. We had spaghetti, puto, chicken and cake. There were games and the kids sang songs for me. The party was held at my Lola Arlyn's hardware. It rained so hard but it did not spoil the fun. I was very happy.
7:00 PM - We're back home. I am so tired. There were no gifts from my visitors but I was still happy. I slept early.

Thank you for reading this post. And to Mama, thanks for letting me share how my 3rd birthday went, to your online friends.

Till next year,
Lizzie

my sunshine and moonbeam

Today is my little girl's 3rd birthday. I never imagined that time can fly this fast. One lesson that I learned is to savor every moment spent with your child. Because they tend to grow up so fast. And the more you stop the turning of the tide, the more it just slips out of your hand. At 3, she is really advanced in everything that she does and everything that she says. We try to be careful with our words and actions because she can easily pick up. She loves to sing and she can complete a whole song with the correct tune and with her eyes closed (for added emotions!). She dresses up by herself and needs little supervision. She can read a few short words but can write the letters in the alphabet. She is far from being genius but I am trully grateful for all her accomplishments. Oh, did I say that she eats on her own now?
You can read another tribute for her here.
Happy Birthday Patoots! You are God's greatest gift to Mama and Dada. We love you!!!

let him do it.

As you all know, my husband's goal is to lose 20lbs of fat from his body. He has been seriously working on it for almost a quarter now and so far, so good. He has been hitting the gym 5 x a week. He cut down on his carbs by measuring his rice intake to a cup per meal. No dinner on weekdays. He feasts on yoghurt, fruits and lots of greens. He swims on Sundays. All these he does really seriously that sometimes, I find it funny already. Last Monday while we were preparing to sleep, he brought up the idea of taking diet pills to speed up the process. I am really not for it but when we checked out this product, I am just as convinced as he is. Guess what? We are in the process of ordering now!!

jack of all trades

I got really furious with the househelp a few days ago. Can you imagine coming home from a trip to the North with a clogged bathroom? Nobody even dared to call me up to report the incident, or better yet contact my in laws who live just a few minutes away from us so they can have a plumber check on the problem. It was a horrible day that they spent the day trying to declog it. It didn't resolve the issue so I had to call a plumber to have the bathroom declogged and at the same time asked him to change all the faucets including the bar faucets both in the lavatory and the kitchen sink. It's a lot better now. But I tell you, a lot of my energy was wasted because I really had to reprimand them for their action. All is good now, though. Thanks to Mr. Plumber!

friday's feast

I know that the chef has been out for over two months now so I recycled her tag a bit. Enjoy!

Appetizer
What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

I remember adoring Punky Brewster when I was a kid (if you can classify her as a cartoon character). I also have all kinds of Strawberry Shortcake stuff.

Soup
Pretend you are about to get a new pet. Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I am getting another dog but a small one this time. I have a pug but he is already old so I am thinking of getting a smaller one for my daughter. I will have to wait for my daughter to give a name because it will be hers anyway.

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?
A 9. I am a no maintenance kind of person but don't get me wrong. When there is an utmost need for me to dress up, I really do.

Main Course
What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?
Mostly reggae and R&B. I am into Eheads lately though.

Dessert
When was the last time you bought a clock? And in which room did you put it?
I don't buy my clocks. For some reason, people love giving me clocks in all sizes and forms. Hahaha! Lagi daw kasi kameng late mag anak! Hehehe!

3xthursday!!!

1. Are you generally healthy? Do you have anything that requires a regular perscription of some sort?
>>>I would like to think I am. Except for my eyes which are really really bad they need to be checked bi-annually, my health is A-OK!

2.Do you react okay to drugs your doctor gives you when you have an infection or a condition?
>>>I used to have an allergic reaction to mefenamic acid but it vanished when I gave birth and had to be given a lot of medicines. I have always been afraid to try this drug before but when it turned out to be safe for me (meaning no more red skin attacks), I have started taking them already.

3. Have you ever had a bad experience/allergic reaction to any drugs you've been given by a doctor?
>>>Fortunately not. I have always been very cautious about the drugs/prescription drugs that my doctors are asking me to take. My friends would always tease me that I act as if I know better than any doctor. Hahaha! Well, at least, that saved me from any trouble right?

This is all for now, folks. Got to rush because the househelp just texted and I need to get some pet supplies for my dog in the groceries. Catch you all later! Ciao!

stand tall.

Happy Birthday to you, Liz! On your birthday, I would like to share with you the song that I will be singing on your 18th birthday (I will be 45 by then so forgive me if I am gonna ruin your debut hahaha!) Serisouly, I have never found another song as apt as this. It's 'alog' as you would say and Dada won't like it but the words, darling... Focus on the words. These are the things that mommy would like to tell you today, tomorrow and always. Stand tall, my daughter.

Wag kang matakot
Di mo ba alam nandito lang ako
Sa iyong tabi
Di kita pababayaan kailanman

At kung ikaw ay mahulog sa bangin
Ay sasaluhin kita

Wag kang matakot na matulog mag-isa
Kasama mo naman ako
Wag kang matakot na umibig at lumuha
Kasama mo naman ako
Wag kang matakot ah.....

Wag kang matakot
Dahil ang buhay ay walang katapusan
Makapangyarihan

wag kang matakot ah

wag kang matakot
di mo ba lam nanadito lang kao
sa iyong tabi
di kita pababayaan kailan man

wag kang matakot
di kita pababayaan kailan man

off to dreamland

I have been blogging since the minute I came home and stepped inside my room. The little girl was already fast asleep when I arrived so the scheduled playtime turned into plurktime and blogtime. I never realized I was already blogging for nearly 4 hours straight. Imagine?!! Even my wireless router is complaining already. I better set my mind to fantasyland now otherwise I won't notice that the night is over and the morning has finally come. I have a long day ahead later so I need to end this entry. It has been a really long day, and a long week for me. I deserve some nice and restful weekend. Ciao!

perfect maternity dresses

Drool. Drool. Drool with me. These are just some of the maternity dresses that I will own once I get pregnant. Checked this out at GAP's site. It is very likely that I will still be working when I get pregnant the second time around so I chose the ones which will suit my working environment. My brother will be the key to all these as he will be the sponsor of my wardrobes. He will be leaving in a couple of months. He was teasing me to go with him as there really are a hundred of jobs in retail that are being offered and he wants me to try my luck because he knows? But I thought otherwise. Living abroad is not part of my plans at the moment. Moment is the operative word so who knows?

my prince

Thanks to Pia in a tagalog flick we watched a couple of weeks ago, I am now in love with this pretty Richard Prince bag. If and when I get my very first LV, it has to be this.

back to back champs!

We did it again. For two straight years, my school has been grabbing the top plum in the annual cheerdancing competition. Creative, Innovative, Unique... That's how people call our team. Said to always be setting the trends, UP Pep Squad never fails to wow the crowd with new stunts, flips, tosses, formations that you have never seen before... And the choreographys is amazing you can't help but admire...

Last Sunday, the Araneta Coliseum housed 25,000 people all cheering and praying for their own school. Everyone performed really well but it was UP who shined the most. It was a great feeling to be there but come to think of it, because of the number of people inside the coliseum, it got really hot duing the middle of the show. Perhaps, the management should start looking for dehumidifiers that they can install to aid in the reduction of moisture level in the surrounding. It would be great to have a safe, dust free Araneta Coliseum nex year!
