serving the good stuff

Back in college, romantic dates would mean trooping to Chocolate Kiss Cafe inside the Bahay ng Alumni at the Diliman campus. I would say I was one of their regular DINERS not because I go out on dates a lot (well, you can say that haha!) but because everytime our allowance would arrive (my barkada slash orgmates), we would treat ourselves to a nice, fancy dinner at this place.

Never really realized that it's been there for 11 years now. The cafe was built in 1997 with the main purpose of catering to the UP crowd. For over 10 years, the lovely cakes and sumptuous meals are there. Not to mention the iced tea which is served in a unique way. It has become part of my life, I would say (that was where I lost my retainers too!).

My all time favorites would be the following:

Chix in a Basket
Sticks of chicken breast breaded and fried until golden and crispy. Served with French fries and barbecue sauce. P175.00

Grilled Fish Steak
Fillet of tuna or tanigue, with stir-fried vegetables and rice. P210.00

Chicken Kiev
Roulade of tender chicken breast filled with cream cheese, butter, and herbs. Served with mixed vegetables and rice. P200.00
Or served with garlic mashed potatoes. P220.00

Seafood Pomodori
Fish cutlets, shrimps, and squid simmered in fresh tomatoes and basil pesto, folded in spinach fettuccine. P225.00
